Microsoft Windows 8 – [PREVIEW] -

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

Comment and thumbs up -_- Thanks everyone !! ==================================================== In 1995, Windows changed the PC. In 2012, Microsoft will show you that Windows 8 changes everything!! Windows 8 is the tentative name for the upcoming version of the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems, for use on personal computers. It is expected to be released in 2012. At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Microsoft announced that it would be including support for system-on-a-chip (SoC) and mobile ARM processors in its next version of the Windows operating system. Windows 8 includes a new Hybrid Boot option that uses advanced hibernation functionality on shutdown to allow faster startup times. Another new feature is the ability to create a Portable Workspace, an installation of Windows 8 on a USB storage device. Cloud synchronization, the Ribbon user interface, a built-in PDF reader called Modern Reader, an improved control panel, and the Windows App Store are some of the new features coming up in Windows 8. Here are a few aspects of the new interface: – Fast launching of apps from a tile-based Start screen, which replaces the Windows Start menu with a customizable, scalable full-screen view of apps. -Live tiles with notifications, showing always up-to-date information from your apps. – Fluid, natural switching between running apps. – Convenient ability to snap and resize an app to the side of the screen, so you can really multitask

Is it Time to Drop Vista for Windows 7?

Friday, August 26th, 2011

chris.pirillo.com Macmanmcmanaman, a member of the LockerGnome.net community asked, “Is there any reason to use Vista over a different Windows OS?” This is a good question, and the answer is very simple. No, there is no reason to use Windows Vista at this point in time. I love Windows 7, and I have done many videos in the past demonstrating some of its amazing features. I was a huge supporter of Windows for most of my life. My entire reputation was put on the line when, after a significant amount of time spent on Vista, I decided to make the switch to OS X as my primary operating system. Viewers of the live feed watched as Vista crashed again and again, often during tapings. Windows 7 is an excellent overall user experience. There is no reason to stay on Vista when Windows 7 is remarkably improved in every area Vista failed to deliver. You can weigh in on this question and many others here: lockergnome.net chris.pirillo.com http twitter.com

How to install Windows XP on a MacBook [1] TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE ON YOUR COMPUTER I’m using a CD with a bootable image burnt with Roxio Toast 10 Titanium. The OS is Windows XP SP2 Professional English. You can get a copy of this CD by going to a video I uploaded recently called Windows On A Mac : Download Windows XP and Burn Into CD. My Mac has OS X Leopard 10.5.6. 2.4GHz 2GB RAM 250HD My Bootcamp partition was 15GB and formated using NTFS file system with Windows. Windows XP Product Key: DP7CM-PD6MC-6BKXT-M8JJ6-RPXGJ WDGQX-WC2Y3-4R966-TK3H3-HXRB8 X3WJB-3B2BH-3MPM6-8F6GR-X9HBJ Procedure [1]: You are going to need a copy of Windows XP. You can get one by going to a video called Windows On A Mac : Download Windows XP and Burn Into CD. You can also buy a copy from any computer store. Next, you’re going to open Boot Camp assistant and then select the amount of space do you want your Windows partition to have. Then you’re going to click Partition and you will end up with your Mac HD and a BOOTCAMP partition. Then you’re going to insert your Windows CD. Make sure it appears on the desktop. Once it’s recognized, click Start Installation. Your Mac will reboot into a Windows Setup screen. Then some files will load up and Windows will start up. Press ENTER and F8 if you agree. Then you will select the Bootcamp partition on the list. Then press ENTER and choose your file system. I recomend formating in NTFS file system. Once done, Windows will copy
